Linwood College Art Auction

More than 130 paintings and works by leading and emerging New Zealand artists will be auctioned on March 6 to raise funds to send 20 Linwood College students and staff to China. Featured in the auction are works from some of New Zealands elite artists. Names such as Ralph Hotere (a Kiwi artist of Maori descent whom features on Wikipedia no less), Bryan L’Estrange, Melissa Sharplin and Kieth Morant to name but a few.  Shaun of Artemis Metal Art  is honoured to be a part of this charitable auction and has offered two steel wall sculptures for auction to contribute to this great cause.

Shaun Rennell of Artemis at Ellerslie!

On the 10th of March, 2009 within the lush surroundings of North Hagley Park, Christchurch is hosting the Ellerslie International Flower Show. This is a first for Christchurch and is expected to draw thousands of visitors from around New Zealand and all over the world. Featured at this years show is the “An Eye for Sculpture” exhibition. Curator for  the exhibition is local sculptor Michael Michaels. A number of New Zealands leading sculptors will feature and include, Ceramic artist Linda Pringle, West Coast jade sculptor Ian Boustridge, steel sculptor Don DeMacedo, highly grogged stoneware sculptor Susan Sky and emerging steel artist Vaneet Dent of Vine Art meets Design. Shaun Rennell of Artemis Metal Art has accepted an invitation to exhibit at the Eye for Sculpture exhibition which is billed as one of the Ellerslie Flower Shows main attractions. Shaun will be exhibiting two works, one of which was created especially for the show.  This an event not to be missed!
