Artist Bio
Shaun Rennell – Born 1966 in the city of Christchurch, on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
As a child, Shauns fascination with both art and design was obvious. His vision, creative and artistic abilities were clearly evident even at this early age. Although Shauns natural talent remained virtually untapped during the years that followed, his creative urges remained.
In 1983, at the age of 17 he became involved in the Automotive Industry, qualifying as an Automotive Engineer and forging a successful career within that capacity for a quater of a century. It was during this time that Shaun developed and perfected his metal shaping and welding skills.
In early 2008 at the age of 42 he started a journey to pursue his life long dream of becoming a leading force in steel sculpture and design.
As the self confessed “new kid on the block”, Shaun is committed to introducing a new dimension to the world of sculptured steel and continues to question and push creative and sculptural boundaries.
